The Women’s National Book Association (WNBA) is an amazing community for writers, authors, and book lovers. As a lifetime writer and book lover, I was surprised that I had not heard of the WNBA before a year ago and so I thought I would share.
The WNBA was originally founded in the year 1917 on the idea that “books have power and that those involved in their creation gain strength from joining forces.” What a powerful concept! The scope of events and resources cover all book lovers, from writers to those who love the feel of a book in their hands.
The women I have met since joining the WNBA are nothing less than extraordinary. I have made some wonderful connections and been able to see how strong the book lovers in my community truly are.
Some of the events hosted by the WNBA include writing and publishing workshops, social literary teas, an annual literary award, local critique groups, and more. Take a few minutes and check out the WNBA website, and look for a chapter near you.
